About

Bastian Gehbauer is primarily concerned with spaces and buildings, their functionality and history, but above all with an emotional quality inherent in places - with something that lies behind what is explicitly shown. His upcoming exhibition includes photography as well as installation - it reaches for places that no longer exist. In archives or in lapidaries, he searches for what still seems tangible, a materialized reference, a negative or often just the memory of a place where one has never been.
