About

bassX (Xterior/Xpansion/Xciting) is a series of solo artist projects, exhibitions, talks, education programs and events that will take place while the museum’s building is closed for an internal expansion. bassX is a hybrid concept with many platforms: indoors, outdoors, across town and elsewhere. Programs are primarily based in Miami Beach Regional Library, (227 22nd Street, Miami Beach) echoing the Bass building’s earlier history as a library from 1930 to 1964 before it became a museum.

The museum’s education programs will also be offered at the Miami Beach Regional Library as part of bassX including the popular weekly classes Bass Babies and Portfolio Class and Art Club for Adults.

Through bassX, the Bass Museum of Art will continue to fulfill its mission to “present contemporary art to excite, challenge and educate” its community during its year-long expansion.
