Barnsley Big Dance 2012 (Wayne Sables Project and Northern Tap Company)
To celebrate the 2012 Olympics', Wayne Sables Project and Northern Tap Company are inviting dance groups from across South Yorkshire to participate in the Barnsley Big Dance platform.
Whether you're a dance troupe, dance teacher, or a school, Barnsley Big Dance 2012 is the perfect platform to showcase your talents and celebrate the Olympics' in style. Throughout the week Wayne Sables Project and Northern Tap Company will be holding a series of workshops at The Civic, giving students the opportunity to work and dance alongside professional dancers from two of the most exciting dance companies in Yorkshire.
Big Dance 2012:
â¢ Workshops will be held at The Civic for schools from across South Yorkshire from Wednesday Friday, with both morning and afternoon sessions.
â¢ Morning sessions; schools will work alongside WSP and NTC in choreographing a new piece that incorporates both the students and dancers from the two companies.
â¢ Afternoon sessions; consist of students working with practitioners from WSP and NTC to create their own piece
â¢ On Saturday afternoon a dance platform will be held at The Civic, that will consist of the pieces choreographed by the schools and the new piece featuring dancers from WSP, NTC and students from throughout the week.
â¢ Dance groups will also be invited from across South Yorkshire to perform at the platform on Saturday evening.
