In her exhibition, Carins reconfigures experienced environments and architectural forms. The scenes slither through the camera lens and are then retranslated through the selective and combining processes involved in montage and collage. Her collages are then reproduced photographically.
About
"The way we perceive landscape and architecture takes on a different form, it becomes distorted and surreal. Our mind tries to uncoil the shapes in the images to create a sense of order, by relating them to concrete things in our world.
We are ensnared in a snake pit between distortion and representational reality."
Our new socially distant exhibition space will be viewable through our front window and experienced from the open-air space outside Husk Café.
We can't wait to share three of Carins's pieces with you on the 26th of August!
