About
On Friday 20 September 2019, BALTIC organises a day of activities in response to the global call for action in raising awareness and understanding of the climate emergency we are facing.
It coincides with the call for action by young people around the world for the Global Climate Strike taking place on 20–27 September.
Our planet is on fire. We need to take urgent action to change the way we produce energy – moving away from fossil fuels – and consume food and goods. Art is an important catalyst for new ideas and alternative forms of thinking; we believe that arts organisations and practitioners can foster the building of new alliances to raise awareness and the discussion around ways for future action to help preserve our planet.
We invite you to participate in a day of film screenings, talks and a game of bingo. Come to BALTIC to listen to and discuss ideas and projects from within the region and beyond, in a PechaKucha-style event followed by Extinction Bingo!
Refreshments and food will be available throughout the evening.
