The first solo exhibition by London based artist Balthazar Mattar.
About
Balthazar Mattar is a London based artist and musician. Primarily creating text based artwork, Balthazar uses typewriters, ink and watercolour to create detailed and graphically striking images which appear to pirouette on ideological see-saws. All of the texts used are written by him, and are frequently lyrics taken from one or other of his musical projects.
'God and Bureaucracy' is the first solo exhibition of Balthazar Mattar and will also be the launch of his music project Glass Disguise’s first album. The album will be piped through the gallery with visitors encouraged to engage with both recognising their connections and blurring the lines of medium. Specific and conceptual artworks directly related to the music will thread through the exhibition taking viewers by the hand and signposting their way around what Balthazar hopes to be a playfully dark narrative of contemporary culture.
