Ottawa based artist Yvonne Wiegers has exhibited in Canada, United States, Sri Lanka and Russia. She has a B.A. (University of Guelph) and a MFA (University of Calgary) garnering the department’s nomination for the Governor General’s Medal. As an artist, Yvonne attempts to put order in the chaotic overflow of life by distilling principal themes into intricate drawings and paintings.
Wiegers states, "Accumulations obsess me. The number of stars in the sky, the number of carbon dioxide molecules in the atmosphere and the number of people on the planet are the impetus for my work. My latest work investigates the ideas of presence, accumulation and proliferation."
