Julie Ellis continues her journey of exploration of imagination and discovery of self in this new exhibition of her work. In “Back to Eden” complex, ambiguous land and seascapes are once again dominated by vast atmospheric skies, full of moving cloud formations, some storm-filled and turbulent whilst others are peaceful and meditative, generating a sense of calm and belonging.
The sense of light which Julie creates is almost magical, hinting at a myriad of emotions and history, just out of reach, but enough to bring the viewer their own sense of memory and private narrative, independent of the constraints of time or place.
Julie has a natural intuitive approach to her painting and it is a joy to share her journey as she continues to develop her own unique style and deliver strong, powerful, thoughtful work which grows each year in confidence and maturity.
“Back to Eden” runs from 6th to 21st September.
