Using hand tools to carve directly into the stone, Joan Sharma explores the relationship between planes and curves, smoothness and texture. Some sculptures are firmly rooted on to their base, others hang suspended in space, allowing light to reach all aspects of the Springstone, the hard form of deep black Serpentine.
