An exhibition of new work by Zerrin Asir and Hannah Wilson, and never before seen works from the archive of Titus Weller (1959-2013).

About

Private View:
Friday 2nd August 6 – 9pm

Open to the public:
Saturday 3rd August 11-5pm
Sunday 4th August 11-2pm

Zerrin Asir - Practising fine artist based in London. Focusing on the damp and powerful underbellies of the natural world. She aims to expose these parts of nature in a way that abstracts the already abstract growths of these underworlds. Mother is her main medium for her work and she lets her do whatever she wishes until she feels she has again fully regained her power.

Titus Weller - (1959-2013) brother of Rudy and Tony Weller - owners of the Artesian Well and successful classical sculptors - spent most of his life as a practicing surgeon. After a series of unfortunate incidents with patients, Weller lost his surgical license and spent the majority of his remaining years as a recluse, barely keeping in contact with his brothers or wider family.
It was only discovered after his passing in 2013 that Titus had spent a large part of his last years working obsessively on a vast series of artworks using materials from his old surgical practice. A small selection of his output - which ranged from photographic collage, to sculpture, to drawing - is displayed in the show, kindly loaned from his brothers Rudy and Tony, alongside a scarce selection of personal effects.

Hannah Wilson – Painter and sculptor who depicts girls from her imagination. Building inspiration from outside sources both historical and contemporary, the women in her work are developed from drawings, done daily. Awkward and lumpy, these girls are seen in private moments grimacing to someone just beyond the viewer. They are usually dressed in leotards or nude, which grants them elusiveness in terms of their location and relationship to each other.
