Autumn Film Season
About
FEATURE FILMS AND FREE DOCUMENTARIESA combination of documentary and feature films portraying various aspects of the American South will be shown throughout the season in a 60 seater cinema.
connecting to the exhibition Myth, Manners and Memory: Photographers of the American South in Gallery 1, the American South Film Season recognises that not only photographs, but music, literature and popular Hollywood films have all helped to build a collective memory of the American South in our minds.
The free documentary films presented in the mornings explore the rich cultural heritage of the region and profile some of the artists in the exhibition.
In the afternoons we will be screening feature films, ranging from early black and white classics from the 1940s to contemporary popular and arthouse films.
Booking is required for these feature films as they carry a small charge of £3 per film. To book an individual film please call the Box Office on 01424 229 111 or visit http://www.dlwp.com/film/
