The paintings of this new exhibition by artist Garbade invite viewers to step into silent, mysterious trails.

About

Created with oil on white canvas and a limited palette of black and white tones, each piece depicts pathways surrounded by trees and shrubs, evoking the ambiance of parks or deep forests. The monochromatic approach gives the landscapes an ethereal, almost ghostly quality as if these natural spaces were scenes from a dream or a distant memory, suspended outside of time. Complementing the exhibition are two black-and-white paintings of crows, the forest's inhabitants.

The piece After Dinner captures the intimate aftermath of a meal, like fragments of a memory frozen in time. Painted in oil on a white canvas using shades of black and white, it depicts a table with an empty tablecloth, used plates, wine glasses, champagne bottles, and other remnants of a gathering that has already ended. The monochromatic palette lends the scene a timeless, almost spectral atmosphere—reminiscent of the lingering trace left by meaningful moments once they have passed.
