AURORA's alternative bonfire night forgoes the fireworks and candy floss to celebrate fire itself, symbol of life and death, of ritual and folklore, with a film screening, live music from Transept... and a bonfire in the Arts Centre's Garden. Robert Gardner's incredible film Forest of Bliss is a poetic, sensual journey through a day in Benares, India's most holy city, and a life governed by fire. This rare screening of the film is complemented by a set by Norwich-based collective Transept, who combine minimalism, ballad, prog, noise, and folk in a semi-improvised preview of their forthcoming album.
