Does an exhibition space change along with its permanent exposure to artistic expression?
About
An exhibition space has to endure a lot. There are installations and performances, exhibitions are opened, contacts made, one shows art and shows off. It is an intersection point for success and failure, excitement and boredom, favour and disfavour. The exhibition space cannot withdraw. It is an archive.
Can one grasp the history of a space, the many emotions and layers of usage? In order to access these ephemeral and elusive phenomena the curators apply unconventional methods that become part of the artistic discourse: several weeks ago two energetic healers measured the geomantic energy fields at the Kunstraum; the results of this analysis inform the artistic works.
