An Exhibition of work by Beatrice Lacey

About

Until recently Beatrice has worked through the medium of drawing and painting, developing her own, well sought after, style of movement and fluidity within her work. She is now entering a new transitional phase where upon she attempts to capture the same movement and fluidity evident in her drawings and paintings through the eye of a digital camera. This brand new collection of work tells the story of her transition as an artist from one medium to another. Being aware of the difference between true film and digital construct Bea regards the art of using pixels as just a way of making marks and building an image, in the same way as she would as a painter. The collection that makes up ‘Transitions' is a series of photographs taken in Morocco. Predominantly of people and movement these images capture a cross between ancient and modern. Commodities, along with being in a state of political flux, this North African city has in abundance.
