In Manhattan the first international solo exhibition of the italian artist

About

Eclectic, visionary, careful scrutinizer of reality, Murgia has participated in numerous events throughout Italy, receiving many awards and distinguishing himself in recent years for his extraordinary versatility which led him to express himself not only through painting but also by poetry and writing.

We remember the publication in 2017 of his autobiographical novel "La personalità del bozzetto", distributed by LaFeltrinelli publishing and the collection of short stories and poems entitled "Solchi tra le dita", out in 2019, which will anticipate a new song, written and music by himself.

In his pictorial works the artist mainly paints the dream, the memory, the unconscious, recalling marine scenarios with the colors and landscapes of his Sardinia.

He states that reality is the metaphor of dreams and in this sense a strong romantic and dreamlike component prevails in his paintings.

From a stylistical point of view, in his painting various elements we can see that bring him closer to Expressionism, Symbolism or Surrealism until to the typical divisionist trait, elements that highlight the artist's intention not to want to close a particular genre or style, preferring instead to explore and experiment with new experiences.

All of this is combined with an almost spasmodic research of light, a founding element and true protagonist of his works which gently envelops the spectator introducing him in this wonderful journey full of symbologies, messages, feelings and intimate reflections.

Who observes his works remains inebriated by that intense blue that at times reminds Marc Chagall ... a blue that knows of sky and water, wind and rain and that like the waves of the sea laps the rocks of being to break them, allowing us to put bare all our feelings.

For those who are in New York, therefore, we highly recommend visiting this exhibition, thus having the opportunity to immerse themselves in the art of this interesting artist.
