Aurélie Pertusot's art always moves between objects and their use to create optical and acoustic effects. This places her in a tradition of performance in the very original sense of the word, because it literally means interpreting in relation to exactly what is present at the moment. With this work, the artist does not even try to make her world accessible to us, for she enters directly into the space we share with each other, the world of our "play space", in which existence has long ceased to be a game.
In keeping with the times, her calculation is combined with a farewell to the cult of the machine, in that she counters the usual technology park of cultural events with equipment reduced to the time-honoured washboard (French: planche à laver) or the "singing saw".
The examples are, of course, proverbial. But every glass, everyday strings, wires, screws, even every detail in the room becomes an instrument, every thing is a free soloist in the ensemble of its environment, the orchestra of elements.
