Assembling is an ongoing project to explore contemporary collectivity through activating flexible groupings. This exhibition will grow and layer as an expanded collective of people, objects, ideas...
About
Contemporary collectivity runs through our entire political strata; hacktivist culture, networked terrorist cells, flash mob advertising, Occupy, Avaaz, David Cameron’s failed Big Society. These collectivities don’t ‘just exist’ but are made. Assembling is a practice.
Assembling is an ongoing project that seeks to activate flexible forms of grouping between geographically and linguistically distanced artists based between Havana, London, Mexico City and Salford. The exhibition will grow and layer as an expanded collective of people, artworks, objects, words, ideas...
Participants: James Bonachea, Maurice Carlin, Luis Garciga, Julika Gittner, Karem Ibrahim, Amy McDonnell, Katie Schwab, Scott Schwager.
