With an interest in the boundaries and analogies commonly drawn between animal and man, Nieuwenhuizen's practice investigates the realms of shamanistic and arcane ritual and behaviour. Using video, sculpture, drawing and photography to address the domestic, sacred, repulsive and seductive aspects of the animal industries, this new body of work generates an unsettling psychological parallel.
