Matteo Di Ciommo is an Italian artist and designer based in Milan. His work
focuses on the study of the poetic functionality of objects. His research is not a
matter of style but an accurate reception of the narrative potential of the
everyday object where the function is completely exceeded by the story that the
object tells.
Di Ciommo works with sensation and surprise, not at all with sentimentality and
amazement.
His symbolically recognizable forms recognized on a collective level allow to
search for the content of the form, in a way that the function or the fanciness do
not take the leadership of the form.
His work stands out for a naive phenomenologist’s practice and then sinks the
project into those observed forms that make the object become very close to the
truth of tradition.
