Have you ever wondered what artists do all day (and night)? Here’s your chance to find out over a special weekend.
Now in its 7th year, ArtWest opens its studios so you can have a peek in a friendly, relaxed environment. Some artists are at the beginning of their professions and many are well-established, award-winning practitioners.
This year, 6 studio buildings with over 40 studios will open their doors. Practices include painting, sculpture, print-making, carpentry, textiles, ceramics, photography and multi-media.
From ACAVA studios on Hythe Road, plus 3 more, follow on to the Light Factory at the top of Scrubs Lane, Acme Studios is on Harrow Rd and a 7th venue at 1A Bathurst Gdns. This is a weekend with a difference. Enjoy looking, talking and dreaming or commission that beautiful piece of furniture you've always wanted, a fabulous pot, or a painting to hang on the wall and inspire.
Visitors can snap up bargains or a mini-masterpiece from ‘Postcards From ArtWest’; anonymous postcard-size gems for £25 each.
This year's ArtWest includes: Annika Strom (Sweden): film, performance, painting. Renata Fernandez (Venezuela): painting. Peter Blegvad (USA): singer-songwriter, writer, cartoonist. Stephen Williams (UK), painter, mixed-media. Chloe Fremantle (UK): painter, illustrator. Afsoon (Iran): collage, painting. Vanessa Cohen (UK), ceramics. William Warbrick (UK): woodwork, furniture.
