Artist Gary Stevens began his performance career in the early 80s with interventions in the theatre, at the start of a defining period in performance. His work bridged the visual arts and theatre world at a time when there was a strong antagonistic relationship between the two.
About
Using rarely-seen video extracts of his early performances, Gary will discuss his work in the context of that time, with a line-up of collaborators and contemporary practitioners. Documentation will include exerpts from If the Cap Fits (1985), Invisible Work (1984) and Animal (1989).
