About
The Carillion Quilt was made by the people of Loughborough to raise money for the construction of our iconic Loughborough Carillion Tower and War Memorial. The Quilt will be shown in full for the first time since its completion in the 1920’s along with a film reel from 1932 showing the very first Carillonneur Eric Jordon playing the bells.
Music from the era will be on display as well as the Elgar Manuscript and ‘Memorial Chime’ created for the opening of the Carillion Tower by Edward Elgar.
Other highlights will include - a glimpse in pictures of Loughborough Town Hall past and present, Poetry from local people and children, letters and Souvenir postcards and Trench Art.
A memory tree will be in the gallery inviting people to leave memories or messages of love for their loved ones who have fought or are still fighting in conflicts.
