About

About the Artists

Claire is drawn to both painting and printmaking moving from oil paintings to screen printing as she continues to practice, explore and discover new ways of working.  Whatever the medium, contemporary landscapes would come closest to describing the work. Inspired by views from the most local in The Bay, to Cumbria and  New Zealand. Among the displayed works, sketchbooks and pinboards you will find colour, texture, layers, and many horizons.

William is a prize-winning artist based in the United Kingdom whose works have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally.  His abstract compositions capture the development of identity over the passage of time. William believes that life shapes and alters our paths, and that we all wrestle with understanding ourselves, as well as our drives and motivations. His expressive and multi-layered paintings can be viewed as seascapes, skyscapes, or a world in between.

‘My work is bold, expressive, and atmospheric, capturing something simultaneously fluent and graceful, yet towering, turbulent and contemplative.’

Ian is a printmaker and graphic artist based in Torquay, Devon. He produces detailed images by combining digitally reworked photographs and drawings to produce hand-cut limited-edition relief lino prints.

His practice is about the discovery of the narratives concealed within his subject matter, while the process and techniques of printmaking allow him to explore and redefine the textures, tones, light, and form that give shape and definition to those ideas. His work is a reflection on the coastal and moorland landscapes of Devon and Cornwall, which connect his present and past by way of the unusual, the partly revealed, the almost-forgotten and the partially perceived.

The exhibition will provide the opportunity to meet the artists and view new works in progress.
