As part of contemporary gallery Cavaliero Finn's exhibition Alter, ceramic artist Leah Jensen, talks about her craft and her latest work inspired by Fitzrovia Chapel - The Healing of Justinian by Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian (1438-40)

About

Artist Leah Jensen uses ceramics as a canvas, as a surface on which to explore ideas surrounding mathematics and art. Deconstructing Renaissance paintings to their fundamental elements, unearthing hidden geometric structures that reside beneath the surface. She carves each vessel by hand with an aim to increase the complexity and precision of detail to appear mechanically manufactured. In this special talk organised by Cavaliero Finn as part of the exhibition, Alter at Fitzrovia Chapel, Leah talks about the inspiration behind her latest work created for the exhibition, inspired by the painting The Healing of Justinian by Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian by Renaissance painter Fra Angelico. The exhibition Alter runs from November 27th - December 1st open daily from 11.00 am - 4. 00 pm
