About

Photographer Gohar Dashti has been in residence at Impressions Gallery, Bradford and will be artist-in-residence at The Delfina Foundation in February, taking part inà‚ 1mile², a Visiting Arts initiative that connects artists, ecologists and communities through creative engagement. At this event, Gohar will present past and present work and will reflect on her time in the UK exploring the influence of recent experiences on her practice. Gohar Dashti (born Iran, 1980) is an artist exploring social issues in Iran, often through photographic self-portraits. Her work has been shown at Hillyer Art Space in Washington, USA; à‚ Museum of Contemporary Art, Tehran; and Iran & Silk Road Gallery, Tehran, Iran. à‚ In 2008 she was Artist-in-Residence at the Art Bridge Program, Washington DC and is currently represented by Kaysha Hildebrand Gallery in Zurich. Adam Knights, Arts Projects Manager for Visiting Arts , delivers residency and exchange programmes for artists from across the world including Artist-to-Artist, in partnership with The Delfina Foundation. He has developed many of Visiting Arts' visual arts programmes, specifically focusing on the facilitation of dialogue between artists internationally. Adam also leads international research and development visits for Visiting Arts including, most recently, mentored visits to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Turkey and Berlin. Adam Knights is on the Board of Directors of ArtRole which is an organisation providing a platform for exchange between artists in the UK and Iraq. Limited seats available.
