About
Beijing-based artist Li Ran presents a programme of moving image work including a single-channel version of the installation Beyond Geography (2012), in which Li plays an explorer and TV presenter in the documentary-like narrative that deconstructs Documentary’s ethnographic modes of representation.

Li Ran (b. 1986 Hubei, lives and works in Beijing). Recent solo shows include Re-projecting – One or Many Roles, OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT Xi’an), Xi’an, China (2015); ONE MAN ONE NIGHT, Kadist Art Foundation, San Francisco, USA (2014); and Archive 23 – Li Ran, Video Bureau, Beijing (2014). Recent group shows include Mobile M+: Moving Images, M+, West Kowloon Cultural District (Midtown POP), Hong Kong (2015); Perched In the Eye of A Tornado, Ying Space, Beijing (2015); and Biennale Of Moving Images 2014, Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève.
