AboutAs part of the Artists' Film Biennial 2014 we are pleased to invite curatorial proposals in an international open call, from which one curator will be selected to contribute to the Biennial's dynamic screening programme. The successful applicant will present an independently curated programme of 6080 minutes in duration on 5 July as part of the Biennial.
Curatorial proposals should be mindful that the programme will be screened within a cinema environment and that all works should be durational, single-channel screen-based works.
Your curatorial proposal should include the following:
- Your contact details (email, telephone, website)
- A 300 word statement outlining your proposed programme
- A list of works (identified as available with the artist or distributor). These should be listed as follows Artist's Name, Title of Work, Date, Media, Colour/No Colour, Sound/No Sound, Duration.
It is desirable that the curator be present during the Biennial to participate in a post-screening discussion.
Curators will receive a fee of £150 and access to all events taking place during the Biennial.
Proposals will be reviewed by the ICA curatorial team and a decision will be reached based on the programme's outstanding quality, coherence and response to the contemporary context of artists' moving image.
This international call is open to curators who have graduated from graduate or post-graduate education in the past 5 years
