Artists and Fiction

Avant garde novels written by artists

Wednesday October 30th 7pm-10pm, Candid Arts, Angel, Islington

“Innovative, subversive, entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny.”

Readings, plus interviews, panel discussion and Q&A

Artworks by Chris Burns, inspired by Peter Carty’s novel, Art.

The event will be chaired by Travis Elborough, cultural commentator and
writer, and author of Artists’ Journeys That Shaped Our World (White Lion
Publishing), to be published in May 2025

All of the novels have had great reviews across national media.
The novelists are:

Sean Ashton, author of The Way to Work (Salt Publishing)
“Ashton has an insatiable appetite for flesh from the hands of the liberal
establishment that has fed him”
 – The Independent

Simon Bill, author of Artist in Residence (Sort Of Books)
“As provocative and entertaining as you could hope for. Laugh-out loud
funny”
– The Independent

Peter Carty, author of Art (Pegasus Publishing)
“There are hints of The Great Gatsby and whiffs of Trainspotting, with a
deliciously strong, bitter aftertaste”
– Times Literary Supplement

Stewart Home, author of Art School Orgy (New Reality Records)
"I really don't think anyone who is at all interested in literature has any
business not knowing the work of Stewart Home."
– London Review of Books

Signed copies of the novels will be available.
