In a belated celebration of Earth Day, the Refinery Hotel is teaming up with art-based social network, Women of Culture, to celebrate the beauty of Mother Nature, simultaneously calling attention to the need to save her.
About
Artists are often at the forefront of social issues and have been calling attention to the climate crisis and advocating for better environmental practices long before it was cool to be ‘green.’ We have assembled a mix of female identifying artists who draw inspiration from and call attention to the beauty of Mother Earth, as well as two climate activists who are working to make sure that environmentalism translates into action at the corporate and consumer level.
This inspiring evening will be an opportunity not only to learn about and experience the work of artists who are committed to celebrating and raising awareness about Mother Earth through their work but will also to learn more about the current effects of climate change and the small things we can all do to help slow down its progress.
Attendees will leave feeling a renewed connection to Mother Earth, a better understanding of how they can help protect her and a renewed commitment to doing so.
Confirmed presenters include:
Nikolina Kovalenko, painter
Katie Hoffman, social entrepreneur & sustainable developer
Christina Massey, mixed media artist
The event is GENDER INCLUSIVE and open to all who have an interest in the arts, culture and community. First-timers and solo 'travelers' welcome!
