A free tour of Freedom has no script with the artist, Burak Delier.
Delier's exhibition at Rivington Place explores the relationship between capitalism and art, balancing seriousness and wit to critique society in a way that is relevant to his native Turkey and beyond.
Several playful installations and films look at the concept of economy and explore the place of âpower' in the cultural system. Works on show include Crisis and Control, a film featuring real white-collar workers talking about the nature of their work and ways of resisting. The interviews take place while participants adopt a series of strenuous yoga positions - a practice that many of them use to relieve the stress of their jobs. A new work commissioned especially by Iniva for the exhibition, 'Songs of The Possessed' also centres on office workers, playing with notions of how people express their emotions in the workplace
