This talk is led by Nag Vladermersky, organiser of the largest Animation Festival in Europe; The London International Animation Festival. It’s an amazing opportunity to see the latest contemporary traditional and experimental animations from international animators, find out more about their motivations, production context and practices and take part in Q&A sessions.

Disability, Inclusion and Activism in Art - Henny Beaumont

Henny Beaumont is an award winning political cartoonist, graphic novelist and creator of ‘Disappearing Women.’  Her graphic memoir 'Hole in the Heart' was selected in top ten novels about motherhood of all time by Mumsnet. In this hour long talk Henny will speak about her practice exploring and promoting inclusion in art. 

Decolonising narratives - Dr. Stephen Knott

Dr. Stephen Knott held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Modern Craft at UCA/CSC, which focused on the role of evening classes, part-time, and self-directed learning in the biographies and pedagogic philosophies of studio craftspeople represented in the Centre’s archive. More recently he has been a member of the CSC Acquisitions Committee. 

Art and motherhood - Hettie Judah

Hettie Judah is chief art critic and a regular contributor to The Guardian’s arts pages, and a columnist for Apollo magazine. She writes for Frieze, Art Quarterly, Art Monthly, ArtReview and other publications with 'art' in the title, and is a contributing editor to The Plant magazine. Hettie regularly talks about art and with artists for colleges, as well as museum and gallery events and has mentored artists and students through a variety of different schemes.


Curating contemporary cultures - Claire Wilcox

Professor Claire Wilcox is a curator and writer. In this hour long talk she will speak about the many exhibitions she has curated during her career at the V&A, including Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty (2015), Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up (2018) and Fashioning Masculinities: the Art of Menswear (2022). She also has a life-long interest in biography, and in particular memory work as actuated by clothing.
