Julie Held and Peter Clossick both attended Camberwell School of Art during the '70's, a time when painting at the school had a presence. Subsequently Julie Held did a post graduate at the RCA and Peter Clossick an ATC at Goldsmith's. They are both elected members of The London Group, Peter was president for five years, and they are both members of the New English Art Club. Their joint list of artistic influences include Bomberg, Kossoff, Auerbach and Matisse and both agree to being affected by the New Expressionism that came out of the early '80's.
Yet out of these similarities Julie and Peter have sustained very different individual visions, which create connections within their work with diversity.
