About

You are cordially invited to the artist talk with Keegan Luttrell. We will talk about the current exhibition "For Joan" at Centrum, highlighting questions evolving around the idea of the protection of the self: In which way can we protect the self from external attacks and what happens, if we get rid of this protection layer?

Keegan Luttrell (b. 1986 in Knoxville, TN) is a multi-media artist living and working in Berlin. She completed her MFA in sculpture at Mills College in Oakland, California in 2013. She graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2008 with a BFA in Art History, Theory and Criticism and a concentration in Photography. Luttrell has exhibited works in San Francisco, Oakland, Brooklyn, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Aix-en-Provence, France, Geneva, Switzerland, Berlin, Germany and Athens and Santorini, Greece. Luttrell explores themes of vulnerability, fear, protection, and ritual that emphasize the most fragile aspects of human existence and the reasons behind the urge to maintain a sense of security in a world so tenuous.
