On February 19th at 5pm, Marshall Gallery welcomes author Henry Carroll and exhibiting artist Judith Stenneken for an in-gallery conversation among Stenneken's exhibition "a mountain is only a slow wave".
About
As one of many satellite events taking place during Frieze Week at Santa Monica's Bergamot Station, we will take a deeper look at the conceptual ideas and philosophical inspiration within Stenneken's multi-media work.
Judith Stenneken is a visual artist working in photography, video and installation. Stenneken holds an MFA in Photography, Video and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts New York (2013) and has since held solo exhibitions with Galerie f5.6 in Munich (2016) and Benhadj & Djilali Galerie in Berlin (2017). Stenneken has produced three self-published photo books with “a mountain is only a slow wave” scheduled for release in Spring 2022.
Henry Carroll is the author of ten books published in more than 20 languages. His titles include the bestselling "Read This If You Want To Take Great Photographs" series, "Photographers on Photography” and the "Photographs That Make you Think" series. Henry is originally from London and holds an MFA from the Royal College of Art.
