Join us as founders of Cluny MCR Louis Haynes and Jake Macleod discuss their exciting creative platform.

About

Thursday 27 April / 6pm-7.30pm / Free / Booking Required

Cluny MCR is a Manchester based creative online and print platform featuring a diverse range of work from emerging and lesser-known artists from around Greater Manchester. Founders Louis Haynes and Jake Macleod will be joining us to discuss how and why they set up the Cluny, working in collaboration and how you can get involved. Louis and Jake will also be bringing along contributing artists who will discuss their practice.

The fourth issue The Love Issue, their first printed publication, explores themes of lust, romance, sex and relationships through the art of photography, graphics & illustration, film, music, mix tape and writing – the 6 consistent facets which make up the Cluny.

Louis and Jake will also be discussing their plans for the Cluny, broadening their scope in Manchester, before moving future issues to feature Leeds and Liverpool, and developing an interactive mobile application with live updates of work around the city.

The next printed issue will be based around the theme of Life & Death. To submit your work email jake@clunymcr.com or louis@clunymcr.com, who always welcome the opportunity to feature new artists.

The Love Issue is available to purchase in our independent gallery shop for £6, and this issue comes with a free condom!

The event is free, however booking is required. Reserve your place at Open Eye Gallery, call +44 (0)151 236 6768 or email info@openeye.org.uk
