Alpha Females
06 Sep 2025 – 21 Sep 2025
Opening: 5 Sep 2025, 17:00
Art Space Portsmouth
Portsmouth, United Kingdom
Join artist Cat. A for an intimate and irreverent artist’s talk exploring the stories, politics, and punchlines behind Alpha Females — her new solo exhibition at Art Space Portsmouth.
Cat will discuss the process of turning throwaway materials into loud, funny, and emotionally charged artworks that blur the line between private outburst and public protest. From overheard conversations to brutal self-reflection, and from rage at Reform UK to tributes to Shania Twain, nothing is off limits.
Expect reflections on making art from the guts — how personal becomes political, how cardboard becomes sculpture, and how humour can be a survival strategy. There’ll be swearing, honesty, and probably a few stories that didn’t make it onto the walls.
This is a chance to go behind the scenes of a practice rooted in resourcefulness, feminist rage, and finding the poetry in everyday chaos.
