About the exhibitions

Artists in Residence: The Ellsworth Artist Residency Program

Art Share L.A. is showcasing artists from our newly inaugurated Ellsworth Artist Residency Program in our Main Gallery. The Ellsworth Artist Residency program is dedicated to creating an accessible studio space for artists and is a dynamic opportunity for emerging artists to work and develop their visual art practice.

Featured artists: Lorenzo Baker, Marissa Brown, Jesse Fregozo, Kyong Boon Oh, Steven Rahbany, Jacqueline Valenzuela

Locals Only

In the Perimeter Gallery, Art Share L.A. tenants will showcase their work alongside Art Share L.A. volunteers and staff! The Art Share L.A. building is the only 100% affordable housing building in the Arts District. Since 2000, Art Share L.A. has provided 30 affordable housing units, helping to protect local artists against exorbitant rent increases caused by gentrification. We are committed to sustaining affordable housing and an inspiring place to create and build community.

Featured artists: M.M Barajas, Jaja Dario, Scott Kaz, Taylor John Kinahan, Ree Magaña, Nai Ya Maji, Jazmyn Martinez, Snackbabie, Tonitruum, Nico Vino, VOID, Zyi

About Art Share L.A.

WHO WE ARE

The mission of Art Share L.A. is to create equitable access to and inclusive opportunities for artists in the LA community. We work to eliminate the complex systems of privilege and power embedded in the art world which limit many BIPOC, disabled, LGBTQ+, low-income, and other historically marginalized communities from finding success in the creative economy.

HOUSING: Providing 30 affordable lofts for low-income residents, relieving working artists of their fear of displacement.

CREATIVE ECONOMY: Connecting artists to paid opportunities, from selling their artwork to public art commissions, and presenting free professional development programs.

ART SHARING: Providing our 30,000 sq. ft building as a platform for artists to share their work, our barrier-eliminating programming supports both visual and performing artists.

Accessibility

All public areas of Art Share L.A. are wheelchair-accessible. Art Share L.A. aims to be as accommodating as possible – if you or member(s) of your group require any special accommodations, please contact us in advance of your visit to discuss your requirements or ask at the front office.

Getting Here

We strongly encourage the use of ride-sharing services, public transit, or cycling. Art Share L.A. is accessible by the 5 and 101 freeways at Seventh Street. Street and lot parking near Art Share LA is limited. We recommend Best Auto Park in the Little Tokyo Galleria. Ride Share Drop-off and Pick-up location is 801 E 4th Place, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
