The durational performance, Artist Salary, draws its inspiration from the etymology of the word Salary and centres the artists own mental wellbeing alongside the act of existing and working as an artist.

This is an experimental durational performance which centres the artists mental wellbeing alongside the act of existing and working as an artist. The piece draws inspiration initially from the etymology of the word Salary, and is a statement about fair pay for artists and the pressures they find themselves under.
This work makes up part of an ongoing, growing portfolio of recent works by artist Luke Beech which process his lived experiences with mental illness and suicidal ideation.
