  • By bus: Take the Arriva 321 Bus Service that runs from St Albans to Luton Airport and get off at Kinsbourne Green, close to the turning for New Mill End
  • Directions: A1081, between Luton & Harpenden. Take Newmill End turning, turn left after 100yds & then follow WGP signs. There is NO entrance to the Walled Garden from the Luton Hoo Hotel
  • By Rail: The Luton Hoo Walled Garden is on the Thameslink route and is approximately 5 miles from Harpenden Railway station and 1.5 miles from Luton Airport Parkway.

2011 Artists in Residence exhibition

About

Luton Hoo Walled Garden proudly presents an exhibition showcasing the final art works from the 2011 artists in residence. The exhibition celebrates this unique setting with a display of site-specific art, which has been inspired by each of the individual artists' relationship with the space, history or character of the garden. Over the course of five months, each artist has developed an intimate relationship with a different aspect of the garden, which they have transformed through their art practice to produce a site-specific piece of work. Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to experience the garden through video installation, dance performance, print, maps, sculpture and sound. 2011 Artists in Residence Andrea Allen, William Clifford, Sophia Dawson, Anna Fairchild, Hazel Godfrey, Anne Houghton, Ruth Martindale, Veronica Peat, Rosie Rigg, Abi Spendlove, Kate Wiggs
