A Live Art Event

About

Saturday 27th March 2010 7pm 1-15 Meesons Wharf High Street Bow E15 2QA Free Entry (AfterParty from 11 £3) ArtEvict is a monthly live art night hosted in derelict buildings and squats around London. With the ever-present threat of eviction orders, the project shares the fate of the tenants, growing as a nomadic troupe as we move from place to place. Since its conception in November last year, ArtEvict has established itself as an open platform for emerging artists to show new work in live art, bringing ideas to a forum for discussion and re-evaluation. This month's ArtEvict will take place in the former industrial heartland of East London at a disused asphalt factory. The night will play host to a plethora of performances, taking us all on a ride through live art to contemporary dance via an encounter with ourselves and each other. Together, twelve individual performances become part of a continuous installation experience, in which viewers shift between active and passive roles. Join Vago Tedosio and Nat Gillespie a live drawing experiment, talk to Kate Harding about her psychiatrist's couch or simply engage in a shared experience, watching the personal made public. This is what it is, a mélange of gawking self-awareness and spectacle. The event will be followed by an after-party at the venue with live music and MC's. Contributing Artists: Nathalie Bikoro, Htein Lin, Caoimhe McGuinness, VCDC, Leo Durand, Laura and Lauren, Agnes Yit, Melanie Uhlman, Joana Cifre-Cerda, Kate Harding, Chloe Bezer, Vago Tedosio and Nat Gillespie. Curated by Heather Jones and Kimbal Bumstead To keep up to date with information, visit our website: http://www.artevict.com or join our facebook group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=365859891042
