Welcome to artBLAB:text, the artBLAB show that is exploring ideas of ‘connections’ through the use of word/text/language. We carefully curated a video exhibition presenting artists that we believe have an original approach to text through their engagement with visual poetry & object poems!

ONLINE EXHIBITION OPENING!
Please join our Zoom exhibition opening on the 31.07.2020 at 7PM for artist talks, poetry reading and a mini-concert by Flo Perlin! We will end the evening with some party tunes coming from Nana & Grandad’s Tribadism Connect.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
The extraordinary circumstances that we all face every day due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forced many creatives to cancel shows and exhibitions, postpone projects and, in many cases, stop all ongoing artistic activities without any certain plans for the future. This situation is new to everyone, and it requires considering the new context we live in and exploring this new reality in search for creative solutions. Now more than ever we need to connect with others. That’s why we curated a show that allows you to view how other people explore the subject of connections, from the comfort of your own sofa!
Why video? We have asked the artists to explore the medium of video to challenge the notion of online exhibiting. Watching videos online has a unique performative quality that could be compared with engaging with artworks in a gallery.
The exhibition has an experimental approach in which the artists accepted the challenge of creating a record of their engagement with text that falls outside their creative comfort zone.
