An exhibition of contemporary visual art, inspired by the Hampshire Cultural Trust's ‘Turner and the Sun' exhibition.
Created by a collective of student and emerging artists from Basingstoke College of Technology, Winchester School of Art and the project’s resident artist, James Aldridge.
About
The #ArtAfterTurner exhibition includes work made by Level 3 Art and Design, Foundation Art & Design, BA Fine Art and graduate artists from Basingstoke College of Technology and the Winchester School of Art.
Working alongside professional artist James Aldridge, who includes his own commissioned work, each artist has created a response to the earlier exhibition 'Turner and the Sun'.
Exploring the way that Turner combined direct observation of the sun with knowledge of contemporary science, poerty and myth, these new works use a range of media to explore the artists' own interests through the lens of this art/science crossover, exploring light, colour, place, war, the body, text and image.
