We are thrilled to be part of the Circular Culture programme this 2024 run by the British Council! Lon-art Creative will be the UK partner supporting the Ibanasca Festival in Honda, Colombia. 

Ibanasca Festival is an arts festival happening from the 9th-14th of October in Honda, Colombia. This year's theme is Women and Wisdom (Mujeres y Saberes) and it includes street art, live music, talks, workshops, art exhibitions, visual art and conferences on social enterprise initiatives for local people and other communities. 

As Sheroes, our counterparts in Latin America have the sheroic cause of supporting women artists while celebrating women through visual arts. More information on Ibanasca Transforma here @ibanascatransforma

Here in the UK, Lon-art Creative will be taking part in the festival through the following programme: 

- We will provide a UK based artist a residency opportunity in Colombia.

- We will contribute to the Ibanasca film programme by selecting two short-films by two UK based women filmmakers to be shown during the festival in Honda, and post festival in London, UK 

-We will create a talk about  ‘Women Muralists in the History of Art’ to be run online and for Spanish speaking audiences

- We will organise an event in London, post festival, to present the murals created, the selected films and run the talk about Women Muralists in English for UK audiences 

Dates and place:

The festival will be taking place on 9th-14th of October in Honda, Tolima, Colombia.

Post festival, place and dates TBC

Lon-art will cover: 

£1,000 towards flights and other transports

£500 towards the creation of the artwork

£500 towards personal expenses

Total= £2,000 (invoices required)

Note: Lon-art will be facilitating the arrival to Honda, from Bogotá, through a member of the festival and we will advise where to stay.

What is Lon-art NOT covering: 

• booking flights, taxis or any other means of transportation 
• any extra personal charges
• personal, health or travelling insurance
• travelling from Bogotá to Honda (even though we will advise how to get there)
• acquisition of materials (organisers in Honda, will be advising)
• accommodation (organisers will provide with more information)
