It has been great fun working with complex layered textures on and behind transparent Plexiglas to create three-dimensional relief. I hope for viewers to get close to this work in order to enjoy the details and maybe draw a chuckle! This specially created this mixed-media painting for Art on the Island evolved through sculpting with paint, fusing actual doses of painting and mixing acrylic paint with glass beads, sand, plastic, and a variety of papers as collage including self-created hand-made paper and cut-outs of my watercolor paintings of flowers and foliage that appear to “peek out” from behind the surface in various areas as on the mid-left, top right and bottom right-hand corners.
