About
Art Auction Online via The Auction Collective | 12 - 26 May 2022
Private View | 19 May 2022 | 6-8 pm at The Bomb Factory South Gallery
The Bomb Factory was founded by artist Pallas Citroen, in 2015 and is a dynamic and expanding contemporary arts hub, now with two galleries and two studio sites in Archway and Chelsea.
Alongside their busy programme of art exhibitions and other cultural events, The Bomb Factory gained charity status in 2016 and provides studio space and a support network for over 80 resident artists, as well as a free education programme for the local communities of North and South-West London.
The proceeds from this auction will be split between The Hepatitis C Trust and The Bomb Factory Art Foundation, supporting their mission to provide affordable studio and free exhibition space and help arts and art education to flourish in their local community.
The auction consists of over 100 mini-postcard masterpieces created by The Bomb Factory’s own, many of whom are graduates of the Royal College of Art, alongside many other British and international art schools. The auction provides a unique opportunity to purchase work by recent graduates before their prices soar. Alongside work by Oli Epp, Mark Wallinger and many more, are pieces by emerging talent Serena Huang, an RCA graduate and Bloomberg New Contemporaries artist (2021); and Liam Fallon a Manchester graduate and shortlisted Mark Tanner Sculpture Prize artist, whose work examines queer culture and the way that different materials contribute into our understanding of queerness.
Pallas Citroen, director and founder of The Bomb Factory, is a multi-disciplinary artist, who turned to art after a diverse career that included modelling, writing for style and football magazines and running London nightclubs. She started the foundation after completing her MA in Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins, in order to create a new home for contemporary artists in central London and to encourage local community participation in the arts.
Art on a Postcard is thrilled to be returning to The Bomb Factory South for the Private View of this auction on 19th May.
