Celebrate Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras with masked models and pancakes

About

We'll celebrate Mardi Gras with a masked model special! Expect an explosion of vibrant colours, carnival glitz and extravagance. Masked and disguised models, hiding their faces but revealing their flesh and bone to be drawn. Join us as we explore the traditions and costumes of Mardi Gras parades throughout the world, from New Orleans with a jazz soundtrack to draw to, to Caribbean celebrations and Belgian rituals. We explore the macabre nature of ‘masquerade', taking inspiration from Edgar Allen Poe's Gothic tale ‘THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH'. Poses featuring nude and costumed models, in elaborate masks and headdresses, will inspire your expressive, rich drawings. Plus the chance to create your own carnival mask, at the beginning of the event. Drinks and food to indulge in available from The Proud Archivist bar, before Lent begins…Come celebrate FAT TUESDAY with us in style.
