About
Arts Venues on Oxford’s South Parade are delighted to announce the third Art Late Summertown this Autumn, with venues staging late exhibition openings, art demos and wine tasting. There’s also a free mini-tour and talk, (exploring South Parade’s rich artistic offerings and history) and a prize draw. Each venue will host a wine tasting, with wines paired with the art on display, led by the experts at Grape Minds, South Parade’s fantastic independent wine merchant. Visitors can then collect a stamp at each venue, before entering their completed stamp cards into the prize draw.
‘We are delighted to once again host and participate in Art Late, and with the new addition of Art-K offering art demonstrations. It’s going to be a very exciting evening,’ says gallery director Sarah Wiseman. ‘We hope the mini-tour, which begins at 6:15pm will be a fun, informative way to start your evening, before immersing yourself in all the visual art South Parade has to offer.’
Exhibitions include ‘Spellbound’ at Sarah Wiseman Gallery; an exploration of landscape and myth with new work by Daniel Ablitt and Flora McLachlan; ‘Fusion’ metal sculpture by Bruce Garside, Wilbur Heynes and Christopher Townsend; and at The North Wall, the 84th Annual Wood Engravers exhibition.
The event is free to attend, with no need to book; follow the hashtag #artlatesummertown for more updates.
