Art in Mind brings together a diverse and stimulating selection of artworks by artists from all over the world. These artists have been inspired by an array of objects, situations or their own surroundings, which they have captured and allow us to see and experience them through their works.
Enza Calabrese thinks every single life is a story worth telling and she takes us to discover hers through art. Every single piece is a journey that enables her to explore and discover herself. Through her pieces she also allows us to question ourselves and unveil what was hidden through self-exploration. Giovanni Cara focuses on the human body as a reference of harmony, the proportional masses of the figure and its expressive form. Having studied anatomy, this has become his passion, which is evident through his works. He is aware of this pleasure that he gets when painting or engraving the forms, the colours and the movements of body shapes, also allowing us to experience it. In his latest series, Jordan Andreotta aims to reflect upon the fragility of life on the planet earth. Links to mankind are included amongst the animals in these images, creating a sense that we all share the same mortality. As far as we may have come as a species, like all other life, we share the basic instinct of trying to avoid our inevitable fete.
We welcome you to join us at the opening of ART IN MIND on Wednesday 20th January 6pm – 8:30pm at The Brick Lane Gallery.
