The Brick Lane Gallery is excited to keep exploring innovative ways of creating art. Through our ART IN MIND; REBIRTH group exhibition, we invite you to discover a collection of talented UK based and international contemporary artists who reinterpret and develop new techniques, themes and approaches in contemporary art.
Alexa Whittlesea Girdlestone explores the relationship of recognition and perception, how the viewer relates to the depicted hands without the aid of the body language and facial expressions. A main reference point for the pictorial elements within the paintings came from looking back to the renaissance, especially the symbolic references to gesture, as well as forward to how gesture is read and understood by the viewer today. Focused more in the emotional, psychological and philosophical depth in her paintings, Zhanna Kondratenko creates every form, line, color shade and combination to bring its own message and trigger certain emotions. The main idea of her art is being in constant development, as she aspires to find new interesting creative possibilities. She believes it’s too important to find new ways of expressing. Zhanna brings through her artworks the idea of The painter as a philosopher who creates something with figures, forms, lines and colors instead of words.
Our exhibiting artists welcome you to explore art’s on-going regenerating process through the diversity and versatility of their artworks. You are warmly welcome to join us at the opening of ART IN MIND on Wednesday 24th June 6pm – 8:30pm at The Brick Lane Gallery – The Annexe.
